Yellow Barn Doors

“Yellow Barn Doors” was painted en plein air in the morning of August 27, 2018 at the Fischer Farm as part of the Farm to Table Plein Air Event.
When I arrived on site and wandered around I was struck immediately by the color of the barn doors and the profile of a horse with his sticking head out of a window on the bottom side of the barn. He chose not to remain and pose so I went to the doors. In addition to the color I like the texture of the chipped paint and the shadows created by the twigs from the tree on the left.
I had a grandchild to hang out with that afternoon and didn’t have a lot of time to paint so I didn’t waste time working on a lot of detail. I was happy with the loose painting that resulted.

Framed 16 in. x 20 in. Not Available
