I started woodcarving in the mid 80’s. I was inspired by John Lowry, a co-worker, who showed me a decoy he had carved and entered in the Easton Maryland Wood Carving Show. It won first prize in the Floating Decoy Category. I thought it was really cool. John got me started carving with a knife. I met Frank Rauscher at a William Rush Woodcarving event in the 90’s. Frank sold equipment and taught courses in power carving as well as producing some really fine detailed carvings. I attended Franks classes for a number of years, we became good friends and I learned a lot about carving realistic birds and animals.
William Rush Woodcarving Show Display

This shows a variety of my works that were displayed at a wood carving show. The flat art works are Woodburnings. I won a number of prizes that year.
