When I was much younger I used to jog up Lenape Unionville Road and the cows would follow along with me. I’ve taken photos and painted there a number of times. The Wanderer was painted in my studio in 2018 inspired by photos I had taken while painting there en plein air in 2017 with a friend, Frank Rauscher. Wanderer was inquisitive and came over to say hello while I was painting. It was a windy day and I remember Frank’s umbrella blowing up the road a couple of times.
