Wanderer

Baily’s Dairy is a dairy farm located about a mile as a crow flies from my house in Pocopson Township. It is located on Lenape Unionville Road between Rte 52 and Rte 82. Its a great place to buy dairy products or just visit. They open up to the public on holidays like Easter, have an egg hunt and kids can feed goats, hold small animals and just wander around. They also host parties for children.
When I was much younger I used to jog up Lenape Unionville Road and the cows would follow along with me. I’ve taken photos and painted there a number of times. The Wanderer was painted in my studio in 2018 inspired by photos I had taken while painting there en plein air in 2017 with a friend, Frank Rauscher. Wanderer was inquisitive and came over to say hello while I was painting. It was a windy day and I remember Frank’s umbrella blowing up the road a couple of times.
