I got interested in painting orchids while practicing painting flowers in preparation for painting on OrKid Days. I painted some en plein air in the conservatory and also took many photographs. I loved this particular setting with the light shining on the moth orchids and the windows in the background. I also liked the arrangement of leaves with some in sunlight and the way the scene is framed on the left with the yellow flowers. The painting is fairly true to the photograph with a few changes in the leaves.
