The Webb Farmhouse is located in the Meadow Garden at Longwood Gardens, Pa. It has stood on the property since the early 1700s. It is constructed with local fieldstone. Pierre du Pont purchased the house in 1916. Is was restored by John Milner Architects in 2014 with building materials selected to restore the historic character of the house as part of the Longwood Gardens Meadow Project. Inside it features an eighteenth century kitchen and a small gallery depicting the meadow through the seasons. The Meadow Garden is one of my happy places. I try to walk there several times a week. Its a beautiful and quiet place with colors and textures changing every week. I usually walk the circumference of the meadow clockwise and the path to the Webb Farmhouse is about my halfway point and one of my many favorite spots.
