Look Across Boot Road

I have always enjoyed looking at the buildings across Boot Road from Historic Sugartown. I was at the site on June 24th, 2017 to deliver a few paintings for the upcoming Watercolor Exhibit. It was a beautiful day and I had a little time to do some painting. It really was hot and I was wandering around looking for a place to sit in the shade and sketch but this scene caught my eye.
I was attracted to the shapes of the houses surrounded by the trees, the different shade of green in the tree shapes and by the light bouncing off the white house below the shade line.
I sat in the sun under my umbrella next to the Stone Wall by the entrance to the parking lot and sketched and blocked in the painting on site. I took a few pictures and used them for reference to complete the painting in my studio.
