DuPont’s Garage

This is a painting of the garage next to the DuPont Mansion at Longwood Gardens. This is the view you see as you come up the stairway from the entrance to the meadow. I volunteer as a Meadow Docent at Longwood Gardens and this is one of my favorite spots.
The garage doesn’t look like any garage I have used. The large doors for vehicle entry are on the other side which faces up to the DuPont Mansion which is not shown in the painting.
This scene was spectacular with fall colors however the leaves had dropped when I got around to painting it so I decided to use pen and ink along with watercolor.
